Griffith Gnat Peacock

Griffith’s Gnat is the most simple midge pattern to tie, and there are many variations of this pattern. This particular Griffith’s Gnat is tied with a peacock body. Fish eat these because they look like a cluster of midges that have pooled up and collected in the eddy. This is one of the reasons you can fish these flies in a larger size than would be expected of a midge pattern.
